DDA extends penalty relief scheme - The Times of India new delhi: the dda has extended the penalty relief scheme from march 31 to april 30 for allottees who defaulted on instalments for various housing schemes. this has been done because of the large number of holidays in march. the scheme was launched in october 2001 to enable allottees to clear delayed instalments with 13 per cent interest. the scheme was applicable to all general housing schemes provided that the person cleared all dues including balance instalments.

Fake bank accounts on sale for Rs 8,000 - Hindustan Times The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Gurgaon police stumbled upon 26 fake bank accounts while investigating various fraud cases reported in the city recently. The accounts, opened on the basis of forged documents, were used for dubious transactions across the country, especially for fraudulent property deals, the police have found. But what comes as a shocker is that the accused sold these accounts to fraudsters for Rs 8,000-10,000 each. Among these, 21 accounts were found in various private banks while five were in two national banks. During investigation of various economic offences registered in the city, the Gurgaon police found fake accounts and prepared a list. “It has become a business for many unscrupulous elements to open fake accounts and sell them for a big amount. Bill envisages land acquisition at market rates - The Economic Times NEW DELHI: The Land Acquisition (Amendment) bill and legislation on Resettlement and Rehabilitation will incorporate farmer-friendly provisions such as flexibility in fixing land rates after factoring prices prevailing in adjoining areas and employment to project-displaced persons. The twin bills are in the final stages of drafting by the Union Rural Development Ministry . With the exception of a few changes, they will mirror the bills drafted by the previous United Progressive Alliance Government. The two bills were passed by the Lok Sabha on February 25, 2009, but could not be tabled in the Upper House. The 14th Lok Sabha was dissolved soon after, sealing their fate. The new bills retain the flavour of the original pieces of legislation.
